23 Work and Life Lessons for 2023

It took me years to learn these lessons.

You get them here in less than two minutes.

1. Passion is not what you think. Passion is “suffering”. When you get into a series of failures, fire tests your passion. You only know you’re passionate about something if you walk through the fire.

2. Attitude is a difference-maker. How you end the day is a reflection of your attitude.

3. People treat you differently after every achievement. Some will envy you, and others will celebrate. Accept this reality and continue to thrive.

4. Bringing constant value is the essence of work. Making an impact is the ultimate.

5. Compare yourself for inspiration and challenge, not frustration and envy.

6. Anyone can be self-confident, but only a few have high self-esteem. Self-esteem is a matter of knowing who you are. Your identity precedes self-esteem.

7. Be different, but be reachable. Take new paths but don’t leave your lessons behind.

8. Skills are underrated. Develop them early, and you’ll have a successful career.

9. Your Facebook profile/page has nothing to do with who you are. And everything to do with what you can do for others.

10. Rest is part of productivity. Life is much more of a marathon than a sprint. You 10X productivity with proper rest.

11. Intensity follows consistency. Focus on being consistent and the intensity will follow naturally.

12. Be careful who you follow online. Not everyone is showing their true character. Do due diligence to discern and research them.

13. You become more skillful when you stop calling yourself an expert. An expert knows he’s always in a learning process.

14. Joy and happiness. Joy is a by-product of a life well-lived.

15. What you become is more important than what you get. The big lesson of life is what you discover in yourself.

16. Broaden your knowledge. Then, niche down. Don’t specialize too early. It is better to be a specialist when you have a broad knowledge of your industry.

17. Trust is an accelerator in business. Trust promotes team productivity and increases profit.

18. Leadership is more than influence. It is relationship. People you admire are leaders who care for you.

19. Time is an asset. Every distraction is a time away from a life you’re called to live.

20. Discipline> motivation. We may not be motivated all the time. What we can do is stay disciplined at all times.

21. Books expand your thinking. Community challenges your thinking. You need both to grow: the books you read and the people you associate with.

22. How you do one thing is how you do every other thing. Health impacts work. Family impacts work.

23. Love, hope, and faith. Bring these three every day.
